Man,I tell you what, it has been a looonnnggg summer. I am really struggling to keep these kids busy and to find fun things to do in this 115 degree weather. I signed Ethan up for kids camp and he hated it (or so he says!), so we cancelled the second session. We have already done swim lessons, which he didn't like either, but Rhys loved. Now, I guess I'll have to schedule some playdates so that we all don't go crazy! LOL...Fortunately, school starts on July 28th so we are ALMOST there :)...
On a more positive note, Scott is really enjoying his new position at CDW. The team he works with is great and he actually enjoys going to work each day, as he stays busy and feels like he's contributing something!!! He has been out to Chicago a few times and will continue to do that on a quarterly basis. I've never been and am hoping to join him one of these times so I can check out the city!!

May's Bday
Tuesday, June 10, 2008
Congrats, Scott!
We are excited to announced that Scott has been offered a new job with CDW as a Regional Instructor (they are an IT company, just like Insight, where he was working). He had two phone interviews before being flown to Chicago last Thursday. We had to leave the house at 4:30 a.m. to make a 6 a.m. flight!! Scott interviewed with several people, did a presentation and then flew back that same night, getting home around 11 p.m. - what a long day! When we got up the next morning, there was an email waiting for him to call CDW and they offered him the job then. He gave his two week notice Friday afternoon and they walked him out immediately (common sales practice). So, he has this week off, which means it is painting and weeding time! LOL...Anyway, he starts his new job on Monday (6/16) and is VERY excited to begin!!!

Auntie Lynne Comes to Visit
My Auntie Lynne came all the way from New Hampshire for a short, 3 day visit! We had a great time and she was able to finally meet Rhys and see Ethan again. The boys LOVED her (maybe because she spoiled them?!?!) and we had a great visit. Here are some pics that we took at the pool party we had :)...

Rhys and Swimming Lessons
Rhys started swimming lessons last week and has made great progress! He cried the first day, but after that, has been doing great. He goes Mon-Fri for an hour for two weeks. Carol and Morgan do a GREAT job of getting the kids comfortable with the water. He now loves to swim and dive for rings! He is still getting used to the idea of jumping off the diving board, though :).
Look at him go!

Getting ready to go off the diving board for the first time-he wasn't too sure about that!

This is Morgan practicing the "reach and pull" with Rhys. He actually does this at home-so cute!

When Harley Met Cali
On Memorial day, we were able to pick up our precious new kitty, Harley. He is another Ragdoll cat from Echoglen Ragdolls of California. He is a retired breeder, 3.5 years old and one hilarious dude! He loves to be by us, play with his toys and purr like a mad-man. He already thinks he has the run of the house and pretty much does as he pleases. As for Cali and Harley, they get along o.k. He wants to play and she wants to be left alone! She hisses and swats at him, but fortuntaley it is becoming less with time. And every once in awhile, he'll give her a good chase around the house just to be a booger :)....

We had some nice weather!
