January 22nd, Scott and I celebrated our 8th anniversary. Wow, I can't believe how fast (and some days how slow ;)) the years have gone! Unfortunately because of my recent surgery we didn't get to celebrate like we would have liked. We did, however, enjoy our weekend a few weeks back, so at least we had that. We'll go out for Thai food when I am feeling better and can stomach it.
In 8 years we have:
*Had 2 beautiful children
*Owned 3 pets-2 cats and 1 fish
*Lived in 8 different places
*Taken trips to Cancun, New Hampshire, Florida and California (lots)
*Owned like 19 cars-SAD! LOL
In the next 8 years we plan to:
*Still be enjoying our 2 beautiful children
*Have still only owned 3 pets
*Have lived in 2 houses (this one and the next one we buy :))
*Take more trips, maybe Hawaii or Australia (sans kids), plus of course CA and FL to visit family.
*Owned like 3-4 cars - Hey that would be a huge step up for us!

January 8th-Surgery Day
*This post is not for the faint of heart, so if you don't want to read some gross stuff, just skip this one :)*
Oh boy, if I knew then how rough my recovery was going to be, I am not sure I would have actually gone in to have it done!!! I was at St Joe's Outpatient center bright and early (6 am) on the 8th for my procedure. We got checked in, did our ppwk and then the wait was on! Fortunately it went quick and the nurse called me back at 7:15 a.m. After she blew a vein in my right wrist, she finally got that I.V. started :). After both of my docs and my anesthesiologist met with me, they wheeled me back to the O.R. I gotta say it is COLD in there and so does NOT look like the OR's in ER or Grey's :)! Anyway, after my anesthesiologist told me he had been up drinking all night with the scrub nurse (ha, ha....), they put me out. When I woke up, that is when the fun began!!! LOL. I laugh now, but it was not fun going through it....
2 ER visits
3 Catheters
10 Lidocain shots down there:)
2 Blown Veins
3 IV's
1 Ambulance Ride
4 Hot Firefighters
1 Hemorraging emergency
2 Weeks of constipation
Lots of Puke
Lots of fevers
LOTS of vicodin
and
100's of stiches later....
I am FINALLY feeling a little bit like my old self :). Today has been the first day I have been sitting up for most of the day. It has been a nice change to feeling like crap and sleeping all day.
I have to say, we have been SO blessed with all of the wonderful meals, cards, calls, emails, well wishes, babysitting and even housecleaning that our friends, family and church body have so graciously given to us. We honestly could NOT have done this without all of you, so THANKS!

Get-Away Trip
Scott and I went away on Jan 5-6th for a mini spiritual retreat. It was a wonderful time spending a day and a half just the two of us. We went out for Mexican food and Thai food (all the stuff our kids, or Ethan, won't eat :)), and also got to see National Treasure (which was a good movie, family friendly!) We also got to sleep in on Sunday morning (WAHOO) and spent lots of time in prayer for ourselves, eachother, our kids and others. We also set our goals for 2008 and really just had a great relaxing time. We were so blessed to be able to go and thank all of those who helped make it happen!!
